Brave Monday: What My First Live Sessions Taught Me About People

It still feels a little strange to press "Start live
video."
There is that quiet moment before everything begins —
where I don't know who will show up, or if anyone will show up at
all.
But I did it anyway. Four times now. Two in English. Two in
Norwegian.
And I've noticed something I didn't expect:
It's not the
numbers that matter. It's the people.
The ones who stay for ten seconds and leave.
The ones who sit
through the whole thing without saying a word.
The ones brave
enough to ask a question.
The ones who watch the replay later.
The
ones who message me afterwards: "This meant something to me."
I've begun to understand that a live session is not about
quantity — it's about presence.
It feels like standing in a
room with strangers you somehow recognize, because they are searching
for the same things: direction, peace, hope, or simply the next step.
The live sessions I've done so far are short — around 30–35
minutes.
The water is deep, and I'm only just learning to
swim.
It's a bit cold, a bit unfamiliar, but I know I need to be
out there.
That's where growth happens.
And those first sessions have taught me something important:
1. Most people come and go — and that's completely normal.
Life interrupts.
The fact that they open the video at all is
already a small act of courage.
2. The ones who stay need someone who dares to share the space with them.
Not perfect lighting.
Not perfect words.
Just presence.
3. The ones who watch the replay show a quiet form of trust.
People watch when they can, when they have energy, when they are
alone.
Choosing to press play matters.
4. All real work begins small: small rooms, small meetings, short sessions.
Two people. Five people. Forty watching later.
This is
growth, even when it moves slowly.
5. One person is enough.
If one person finds a little light in what I say, it's worth it.
So here's this week's Brave Monday:
Be brave enough to show up, even when you don't know who
will come.
Be brave enough to be real, even when you feel
small.
Be brave enough to continue, even when the water is cold
and deep.
I will keep doing these live sessions — not because I have to,
but because people need people.
Community often begins with
something as simple as pressing "Start live video."
Next week's Instagram Live will be about ANXIETY.
A difficult topic, but an important one. I hope you'll join.
