Somewhere this morning, someone is sitting on the edge of a bed, staring at their boots.

The house is quiet. The week has barely begun, and already they are wondering how they will carry it.

Maybe that someone is you.

You keep things moving. You carry responsibilities that cannot simply be handed to somebody else. And sometimes you keep quiet about how tired you are because you do not want the people you love to worry.

Then you pick up your phone.

Before your boots touch the floor, the whole world is asking something of you. Another headline. Another warning. Another reminder of where you should be by now.

The screen goes dark, but the pressure stays.

That is the weight of a digital ghost: expectations that follow you into the room long after you have put the device down.

Lately, people have been talking about how far this framework is travelling. They point to citations, data, and digital footprints.

But reach means very little to the person trying to get through a difficult morning.

What matters is whether there is something here they can use.

That is where The 0-Mile Horizon begins.

When the week feels too heavy to face all at once, bring your attention closer.

Down to the floor beneath your boots.
The edge of the workbench.
The weight of a tool in your hand.

Let the next sixty seconds be small enough to handle.

Take a breath. Feel where you are standing. Choose one thing within reach.

A glass of water.
Putting on your coat.
A message to someone you trust: "I'm having a hard morning. Can we talk?"

The bills may still be there. The work may still be waiting. You can return to those things with a little more ground beneath you.

Working life teaches you to respect a tool that helps when your hands are cold and your energy is gone. The same should be true of the ideas we offer each other.

They need to be usable on the hard mornings.

And on those mornings, needing a pause or another person beside you does not erase the effort you have already made.

If you are reading this in the dark, trying to hold a difficult part of your life together, give yourself this moment before you take on the week.

Put the phone down for a minute.

Feel the ground beneath your feet.

Start with what is within reach.

One breath. One movement. One at a time.
