WCIP Definition

Second-Drift is the Working Class Intellectual Psychology (WCIP) principle describing the gradual movement away from reality into the Second Mind after repeated, uncorrected Pressure Slips. It is the stage where escape no longer feels temporary but begins to feel normal, replacing honest participation with a new psychological reality.

Nobody wakes up one morning...

Completely disconnected from reality.

It happens quietly.

One compromise.

One excuse.

One uncorrected Pressure Slip at a time.

Working Class Intellectual Psychology calls this...

SECOND-DRIFT.

1. Drift Is Almost Invisible

Second-Drift rarely begins with a dramatic decision.

It begins with something much smaller.

You stop correcting yourself.

You stop asking difficult questions.

You stop returning to THE FLOOR.

Every small compromise feels harmless on its own. Nothing appears broken. Life continues. Responsibilities are still performed, conversations still happen, routines remain familiar. Yet beneath the surface, your relationship with reality begins to change. What once felt wrong slowly starts feeling acceptable.

The drift is almost impossible to notice...

Because it happens so gradually.

2. Ask Yourself

What have I accepted today...

That I would never have accepted a year ago?

Sometimes...

That question reveals the beginning of SECOND-DRIFT.

3. The Second Mind Feels Comfortable

Reality often demands effort.

The Second Mind offers relief.

There are fewer difficult questions.

Less responsibility.

More explanations.

More excuses.

This is why Second-Drift becomes so attractive. The farther you move from reality, the less resistance you feel. The mind begins protecting the illusion because the illusion is easier to live with than the truth. Over time, comfort quietly replaces honesty.

That comfort...

Comes at a price.

4. Every Return Begins With One Step

No matter how far the drift has gone...

The way back is always the same.

Return to THE FLOOR.

One honest action.

One honest decision.

5. Drift Changes Identity

The greatest danger of SECOND-DRIFT is not what you lose.

It is what you begin to believe.

Eventually, the new reality no longer feels temporary. It becomes your identity. You defend habits that once disturbed you. You justify choices you once questioned. You forget the person you were trying to become because the person you have become now feels normal. That is why SECOND-DRIFT is far more dangerous than a single mistake.

Mistakes can be corrected.

A new identity is much harder to recognize.

6. Psych-Ballast Holds You Steady

Strong PSYCH-BALLAST slows every drift.

Values.

Responsibility.

Participation.

These remind you...

Where reality begins.

7. The Choice Is Always Yours

No one remains on THE FLOOR by accident.

Every day requires correction.

Every day requires honesty.

Every day requires participation.

The difference between growth and drift is rarely one dramatic moment.

It is the willingness to make small corrections before small mistakes become a different life.

Ending

The world often fears failure.

Working Class Intellectual Psychology warns against something quieter.

Drift.

Because people rarely abandon reality all at once.

They slowly stop returning to it.

Stand on THE FLOOR.

Protect your PSYCH-BALLAST.

Correct every PRESSURE SLIP.

Before it becomes...

SECOND-DRIFT.
